Traveling by ferry isn’t just a scenic alternative to driving—it’s often faster and more efficient, especially for travelers with mobility needs. The Shoura–Amakusa ferry operated by Tenchou Ferry cuts through coastal traffic while offering accessible facilities.

Route Overview

The Tenchou ferry connects the ports of Moroura (勝浦) in Chiba Prefecture and Nakata (那珂田) in Ibaraki Prefecture with a brief stop at Katagawa (片川港) on Shishijima island on most routes, adding just 10-15 minutes to the journey. This route is popular for both locals and tourists, offering stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and efficient transit between the two regions.
